Hey there Pam, Robert and everyone else out there in ex-
HDL land. It’s Jeff Seymour from Omaha…err – Sioux Falls…no.
Ummmmm – oh yeah,
Shakopee, MN.
I am still working for
Handleman – c’
mon…everyone say it with me (you too Dave Y & Andy B!)
Haaaandlemaaaannnnn. We all know what our real name is out in the field (the field – a place in which the aforementioned
mgmt has not a clue of what is really happening). :-) Still with the
mothership for now. Things are quite different since we officially merged – let’s see…is that a hard merge, a merge merge, soft merge, a merge with pickles and anchovies?
The transition from ADM to general peon/
CNT has been smooth other than a few bumps in the road. It is approximately 120-130 miles from one end of my territory to another. I’
ve lost count on how many stores I actually cover. Somewhat because I have missed so many visits over the past few weeks, but mostly because my territory keeps on growing. I’
ve gone from trying to cover 350 hours for the month to over 600 hours in Oct.
Laura, my wife, and I (oh! And our kitty cat) have been in
Minnesoooota for a little over 2 years. I have that northern accent in high gear too, don’
cha know! It’s been nice, but we are trying to get out of here now. It’s been fun to a point, but we are trying to get back to Omaha soon. I had a chance to move with
HDL and be in
Marino’s district – oh
nooooooooooooooooooo :-) (only
kidding Shirley) – but I guess I thought
HDL would shell out for the move again, which was not the case. So…we stay.
It’s been an interesting transition going from 120K in Sioux Falls to well over a million people in MN. It’s also pretty amusing making fun of the “professional” football team they like to call “
da Vikings” – and their miserable season.
Quick (and fortunately or unfortunately true) story – a businessman from Denver gets drunk one evening. He is annoyed by the ducks that are swimming in the pond at the local Embassy Suites – inside the hotel. He chases and corners one into a corner, grabs it & (
ok – gross part here) rips its head off –
eeeeewwwww! He then turns around to the bystanders and proclaims “I’m hungry…and I’m gonna eat it!” And then to top it off, the radio finishes the story by saying “the man did not eat it”. Too funny!
By the way, I’m not sure how many reading this know. Larry
Gelfund was also one of the people taken out by this recent round of corp layoffs. I don’t think that had been mentioned yet. Does anyone else think it’s stupid that we have 2 corporate offices? One in Troy, one in TN. Seems like we’re wasting money somewhere…but I just can’t quite put my finger on it. :-)
Well – that’s all I have to say about that. :-) I hope I
wasn’t too negative in my blog debut. I really miss seeing everyone in the
WBU family! Feel free to email me at my
Handleman email. I suppose the I -T department will get all bent out of shape about that too.
Errrry-body B good!!! :-)
